Vacancy: Full time practice receptionist/administrator

A new opportunity has arisen to join the client care team in our recently opened, independent, family owned veterinary practice. The role will primarily involve reception duties but there will also be some administrative tasks.

Leith Vets is a welcoming, caring practice where clients love to drop in, give their dog a treat and say hello. The practice is growing which is super exciting! We’re now in a position to add an additional full time client care member to our team. Our staff are all friendly, personable and keen to build relationships with our clients and patients in the community. We are looking for an empathetic individual with experience within the customer services industry who will fit in well with our current staff members. Prior experience within the veterinary industry is preferred butnot essential. The ability to use Microsoft office programs is required. We will provide training in how to use our practice management system.

Leith Vets is open 8.30-6pm Monday to Friday and 8.30-12.30pm on Saturdays. The position is for 38-40 hours per week including 30 minute paid lunch breaks. The rota would involve 4 x 9.5 hour week days and there may be a requirement to work Saturdays. Salary £23,000-£24, 000.

34 days holiday per year including bank holidays. 3 days enhanced sick pay included within the probationary period, increasing to 5 days after successful completion of the probationary period. A generous staff discount scheme is included.

Responsibilities include:

  • Phone triage and booking of appointments

  • Answering digital messages and emails

  • Day to day accounts input and operation

  • Bank reconciliation

  • Debt collection

  • Insurance claim processing
